Budget prep about election as much as county finances

County departments are asked to submit budgets for 2010-11 with 9 percent reductions in spending.
Wow.
The county must be in as bad financial shape as the state – which is, by most accounts, going to miss current year budget projections by several hundred million dollars and face another year of declining revenue.

By the time those suckers started rolling off assembly lines in factories in the United States I was too old (and too big) to enjoy the thrill of riding a Big Wheel.
And of course that made those big plastic tricycles look even more fun.

Time for courage from council, residents

It is time for courage in Norris. Time for City Council to stand tall. Time for residents to stand with council members as they work to protect the city and its neighbors – even if some neighbors don’t like it.
Two years ago, when Norrisonians set priorities for the city, managing growth was at the top of the list.
