BEATRICE HOWARD FRITTS
Beatrice Howard Fritts, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born Nov. 18, 1933, in Homer, La., to the union of Grover Howard and Lodesta Tuggle Howard.
She lived in Los Angeles, Calif., from 1964 until her move to Oliver Springs in 1996.
While living in California she taught school at the Uhuru Shule Elementary School and she was a longstanding member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church. Before moving to California she lived in Nashville, where she was employed as a registered nurse at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
She was a faithful Christian and a member of Little Leaf Baptist Church, where she was known as the "flower lady" and she served as the church photographer.
In addition to caring for her family she enjoyed crafting, gardening, writing, history and she was presently researching the family genealogy.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: Son, Donald Fritts; sister, Claudia Howard; and brother, Jay Vance Howard.
She was a loving wife and mother and leaves to cherish her memories: Husband of 49 years, Ronald Fritts; sons, LaMonte Fritts and wife Leslie of Australia and Gamaliel Fritts, all of Oliver Springs; sisters, Betty Jean Webster and husband Claude Lowery and Diane Howard of Los Angeles, Calif.; brothers, Joseph Tuggle and wife Florine of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Samuel Tuggle of Dallas, Texas, and Daniel Tuggle and wife Linnie of Dallas, Texas.
Additionally she will be remembered by her nieces and nephews and the many contributions she made to their lives, and by a special cousin, Renee Thomas and special friends, Marcella Curd, Jackie Henry, Clara Hughes and Mary Lou Brooks.
The family received friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, at Sharp Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Little Leaf Baptist Church in Oliver Springs.
The interment will follow at Carter's Bluff Cemetery.

BILLIE (BILL) EWIN FORKUM
Billie (Bill) Ewin Forkum, 71, Powell, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born Oct. 10, 1938, in Hartsville, Tenn.
He was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church of Powell and is resting sweetly in the arms of his loving Savior. He was a retired Army Sergeant from the 82nd Airborne, who served for 10 years stationed at Fayetteville, N.C., and Germany as a paratrooper, who loved serving his country.
He retired from Tennessee Asphalt in Knoxville in 2004. He was general manager for Waco Trucking in Oliver Springs for more than 20 years and co-owner of Oliver Springs and LACO Mining Companies.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He loved spending time with family and friends, music, fishing, and horses.
He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by: Wife, Margaret Seiber Forkum; father, Walter Marion Forkum; daughter, Cathy Brown; and sisters, Shelby Forkum and Betty Schular.
Survivors: He was the father of nine children — Karen Kirkland of Powell, Cindy and husband Jerry Helton of Talbot, Linda and husband Donny Green of Lake City, Susan and husband Benny Braden of Lake City, the Rev. Edward Seiber and wife Darlene of Caryville, David Seiber and wife Sue of Lake City, George Michael Seiber and wife Jeannie of Lake City, Daniel George Seiber and wife Christina of Lake City; mother, Edith Drinnen of Oliver Springs; sister, Marion Malone and husband, Boyd of Oak Ridge; son-in-law, Mike Brown of Knoxville; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; special aunt, Ilean Helton of Crossville; special friend, Charline Suerth of Wartburg; very special niece Maleaha Elliot and husband Richie of Jonesborough, Tenn.; and many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation was from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City.
Funeral service was at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Fielden and the Rev. Tim Wallace officiating.
Family and friends met at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Hatmaker Funeral Home and went in procession to Leach Cemetery in Lake City for an 11 a.m. interment with military honors provided by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

HENRY CLAY KING
Henry Clay King, 92, Clinton, died peacefully in his home Friday, July 23, 2010, surrounded by his devoted wife and family.
He was born in Byhalia, Miss., Dec. 18, 1917.
He entered the United States Army in 1936 and spent two years in Panama. He re-enlisted in 1944, serving his country in Europe until 1946. He received the following decorations while in the army: American Theatre Service medal, Victory medal, and an Occupation medal while in Germany.
He retired from TVA as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Clinton.
His interests included history, reading, singing, gardening, and visiting with his family. He was a very compassionate man who enjoyed helping neighbors.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, Walter P. and Jenny King; and sisters, Addie Pepper, Nell Bombalaski and Spencer Phillips.
He is survived by: Loving wife of 70 years, Rosetta King; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Suzanne King of Clinton, and David and Jo Ann King of Oak Ridge; daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Tom Dunlap of Virginia Beach, Va., Darlene and Jerry Cooper of Clinton, and Joan Cox of Sevierville; grandchildren, Terri Foust, Angela Smith, Stacy King, Clay Hendren, Kimberly Bell, Brian Hendren, Lee Ann Shelton, Shawn Cox, Amy Ammons, Shannon Cox, and Brooke Cooper; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; nephew, Billy Phillips of Memphis; nieces, Marjorie Phillips of Memphis and Carolyn Potts of Ocala, Fla.; and his faithful cat, "Wrow Wrow.”
The family wishes to express its thanks to the nurses who cared for him during his illness.
The family received friends from 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Bethel Baptist Church in Clinton.
The funeral followed and was officiated by the Rev. Daryl Taylor, the Rev. J. C. Newman and the Rev. Tom Dunlap.
He was buried at the Cox Cemetery with full military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

JAMIE TIMOTHY CAMERON
Jamie Timothy Cameron, 51, Clinton, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by: Grandparents, Dan and Ona Allen, Tom and Bertha Cameron; step-father Edward Lee Smith.
Survivors: Mother, Marie E. Smith; father, James C. Cameron; brother, Jim Cameron and wife Sandy; sister, Norma Richards; brother, Danny Cameron and wife Gail; love of his life, Becky Cameron; special niece and nephew, Denise and Ricky.
Family and friends met at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Roseberry Cemetery for a graveside service at 9 a.m. with the Rev. John Lawson officiating.

VICKIE DENISE SINGLETON
Vickie Denise Singleton, also known as “Miss Vickie” to everyone who knew her, was born Feb. 27, 1956. She was born again Jan. 18, 1988, and stayed the course for Jesus, until her death July 19, 2010.
She was a faithful member of Carroll Hollow Baptist Church, where the Lord used her with the children, whom she loved dearly. She loved her work in the Lord, and always told people about Him, and how good He is. She would want you all to know that she loved you, but “Jesus loves you more!” “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28.
Survivors: Husband, Richard Singleton of Clinton; son, Joshua Singleton and wife Jessie of Clinton; daughter, Melanie Crowley and husband Scotty of Clinton; parents, Toby and Delores Owens of Cleveland, Tenn.; grandsons, Kegan, Chase, Kobie, Bryson and Brent; brother, Toby Owens Jr. and wife Penny of Harriman; sisters, Pam Morrison and husband Steve of Princeton, Ind., Tammie Royse of Cleveland, Tenn., Sharon Pierce and husband Mark of Mt. PATRICIA ANN RUSSELL
Patricia Ann Russell, 62, of the Laurel Grove Community in Anderson County, died Friday, July 16, 2010, at her home.
She was born Nov. 19, 1947, in Anderson County.
She was a lifelong resident of this area.
She was employed as a beautician and she worked at Unique Hair Fashion in Oliver Springs.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and a faithful member of the Laurel Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, canning with her nephew, Tony, playing the piano, singing, church activities, working as a beautician and spending time with her granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, Dewey and Irene Braden; brother, Morris Braden; father-in-law, Dexter Russell; brothers-in-law, Frank Simpson and Ray Byrge; and by a great-nephew, Zachary Arendes.
She is survived by: Husband of 45 years, Donald Russell; daughter, Donella Russell of Briceville; son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Pam Russell of Knoxville; the love of her life, a granddaughter, Faith Russell; aunts, Gertrude Harness, Ion Parks, Viode McCullen and Ellen Parks.
She has a sister, Minnie Byrge and husband, the Rev. Tom Byrge of Lake City; a devoted mother-in-law, Roxie Russell of Oliver Springs; sister-in-laws, Patsy Lively of Harriman, Kathy Byrge, Shirley Tinker and husband Hayes, Debbie Bunch and husband Doug, and Tammy Peters and husband Joe, all of Oliver Springs; brother-in-law, Larky Russell and wife Chris of Oliver Springs; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend, Faye Patterson; and by a special nephew, Tony Braden.

Stephen Jaynes, 45, Clinton, died Tuesday July 20, 2010, at his residence.
He was a veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
