CHS class of 1980 30 year reunion
The Clinton Senior High School Class of 1980 will celebrate its 30-year reunion Saturday, July 31.
The reunion will begin at 7 p.m. with dinner at 8 p.m. It will be held at 205 Main St. (Old Ray Viles Ford Building) in Clinton.
The cost is $40 per person or $75 per couple.

Maverick Day Wednesday, Aug. 4.
The schedule will be seniors, 9 a.m.; juniors, 10 a.m.; sophomores, 11 a.m.; and freshman, noon.
Student who attend ACHS should take part in the following activities:
• Annual pictures
• Buy annuals $65 (or make a $35 deposit)
• Pay general fee
• Pay for parking permit
• Meet and greet faculty, staff, and administration
• Join clubs
Separate checks must be made for pictures, fees and parking permits.
All students must comply with the 2010-11 dress


Quilt Guild July potluck scheduled for July 28
The annual Christmas in July potluck supper of Bits ’n’ Pieces Quilt Guild – this year celebrating the guild’s 15th anniversary – will start at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at Norris Community Building, 20 Chestnut Drive.
Founding members of the guild and their spouses have been invited, as well as current members’ spouses, friends and anyone else interested in quilting.
Members are asked to take a sewing notion for the holiday tree and a Christmas-themed “fat quarter” for the quilters’ drawing.

Appalachian Arts Craft Center seeks members
The nonprofit Appalachian Arts Craft Center is looking for new members to sell handmade crafts at its gallery, 2716 Andersonville Highway 61.
Artists and craftspeople can participate by taking three samples of their work to the center, one mile east of Exit 122 on I-75, between Friday, July 30, and noon Thursday, Aug. 5. Jurying will take place Tuesday, Aug. 10, and samples must be picked up by Aug. 23. The process costs $25.
Appalachian Arts Craft Center has promoted traditional Appalachian arts and crafts for 40 years; about 65 artisans sell their work in the shop. Jurying for new members is held four times yearly.

Clinton High School’s ‘Dragon Day’ set Aug. 4
Clinton High School will hold “Dragon Day” Wednesday, Aug. 4.
On that day students may:
• Request schedule changes;
• Have photo I.D. made;
• Purchase parking passes (seniors and juniors with valid driver’s license);
• Check out clubs and organizations;
• Season tickets for CHS football will be sold from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.;
The schedule for the day is: Freshman 9 – 11 a.m.; sophomores, noon – 2 p.m.; juniors, noon – 2 p.m.; seniors, 9 -11 a.m.
Freshmen report to class Aug. 9; all others report Aug. 10.
