Glenna Faye Smith, 58, Clinton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at FT. Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.

She was born July 21, 1953, in Harriman.

She is a lifelong resident of this area.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and a member of the Big Mountain Baptist Church.

Before her disability she was employed at the YWCA in Oak Ridge as an intake counselor for the women’s shelter.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, Marion Glen Davis and Thelma Basler Davis; husband, Michael Lee Smith; brother, Robert Davis; niece, Jessica Hamby; and uncle, John Basler.

She is survived by: Daughter, Gayle Jones; grandchildren, Chris, Matt and Zach Hibben, Keilee and Easton Jones, all of Clinton; brothers, Martin Davis and wife Betty of Oliver Springs, Calvin Davis and wife Michelle of Harriman, Carl Davis and wife Debbie of Clinton, Gary Davis and wife Dean of Petros, John Davis of Oliver Springs and Virgil Davis of Chatsworth, Ga.; sisters, Shirley Hamilton and Patsy Hamby and husband Joe of Wartburg.

She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends including Bobby and Tracy Hibben and Della Smith of Oak Ridge.

The family received friends from 5 – 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Big Mountain Baptist Church in Oliver Springs, with the services following at 6 p.m.

Burial and graveside services will be held privately at the Jonesville Cemetery in Oliver Springs.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the daughter, Gayle Jones.

Jerry D Johnson, 66, Powell, passed away Nov. 5, 2011 at Parkwest Hospital.

He was a retired truck driver, owner and operator, with more than 30 yaers of service.

Preceded in death by: Father, Lloyd R. Johnson; brothers, David L. Johnson and Gene L. Johnson.

Survived by: Sons, David Johnson and wife Teresa Johnson of Powell, and Joseph (Joey) G. Johnson of Powell; grandchildren, David Johnson (little Dave), Caleb Johnson, and Kaylee Johnson; mother, Emilee S. Johnson; siblings, Glenda Johnson Beal aqnd husband Dennis, Wanda J. Johnson, Helen S. Johnson, Joann Johnson Moore, Deborah L. Johnson, and J. Paul Johnson; also, many nieces and nephews.

He leaves many beloved friends in the community.

Visitation was from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City.

The funeral service was at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Byrge officiating.

Interment followed the funeral service at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.

Larry Snellings Sr., 59, Clinton, passed away suddenly Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He had worked at Modine for 36 years and four months before the plant shut down. He enjoyed life and doing for others and making them laugh.

All those who were close to him were aware of his great integrity and character. He enjoyed giving special nicknames to all his family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, collecting guns and knives.

He loved his dog, a miniature schnauzer named Wilbur.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, H.M. and Allien Snellings; grandparents, Ralph and Lillian Thurman and Harve and Cynthia Snellings.

Survivors: Wife, Lu Snellings of Clinton; sons, Larry Ray Snellings Jr. and wife April of Kansas City, Mo., Aaron Hill of Clinton; daughters, Shanna Doan and husband Donnie of Jellico, Meagan Shelton and husband Ken of Louisville, Tenn.; brother, Sonny Snellings and wife Pam of Taylors, S.C. ; grandchildren, Spencer and Ethan Snellings of Kansas City, Mo., Jaxon and Adyson Doan of Jellico; soon to be born grandson, Gabriel Joseph Shelton; stepfather, Howard Snellings of Clinton; niece, Amy Wasniewski and husband Eric of Pendleton, S.C.; nephew, Phil Snellings of Dallas, Texas; special friends, Ron and Gloria Webber of Clinton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

His family received his friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, with a celebration of his life following at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with the Rev. David Crowley officiating.

His interment will be private.

Regina Lee Henderson Silvey, 47, Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

She was born Oct. 22, 1964, in Knoxville.

She grew up in Clinton and graduated from the Clinton high School in 1982.

She had lived in Oliver Springs for the past 21 years.

She was a loving wife, mother and daughter and a member of the Kelly Town Baptist Church. Shehad an outgoing personality and she enjoyed mingling with people. She was often witnessing to all that she met and she was a member of the Kelly Town women’s jail ministry team.

She was preceded in death by: Maternal grandparents, Leroy and Elsie Huckaby; paternal grandparents, James and Elsie Henderson; aunts and uncles, Josephine, Ruby, Leroy Huckab, Jr., Bobbie and Pete.

She is survived by: Husband, Mark Silvey of Oliver Springs; daughter, Rachel Silvey of Oliver Springs; father, Billy Joe Henderson and wife Cathy of Karns; mother, Imogene Huckaby Henderson of Clinton; brothers, Billy Joe “B.J.” Henderson Jr. and wife Jennifer of Clinton and Michael Posey of Karns; sister, Lisa Seiber and husband Harlon of Marlow.

She is also survived by: In-laws, Bill and Mary Silvey of Oliver Springs; brother-in-law and his wife, Mike and Charlene Silvey of Oliver Springs; nieces and nephews; extended family members and a host of special friends.

The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at Sharp Funeral Home.

The funeral followed at 8 p.m. with Pastor Matt Reed officiating.

Burial and graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Oliver Springs Cemetery.

Weston Mitchell, 33, Clinton, went to be with the Lord Nov. 5, 2011.

He was born Nov. 3, 1978, in Knoxville.

He attended Grace Baptist Church and played softball for Faith Promise Church. He was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of ’97. He loved his family and truly enjoyed his time with his precious daughter, Taylor, and niece and nephew, Kaden and Michaela.

He was preceded in death by: Grandparents, Hence and Louella Mitchell of Oliver Springs and Lige and Barbara Gibson of Clinton; uncles, Hence Mitchell Jr. and Doug Mitchell.

Survivors: Father, Gary Mitchell and wife Debbie Renfro; mother, Resa Kesterson; daughter, Taylor Bean Mitchell; fiancée, Chrissy Bean; sister, Loren and husband Jason Webber; grandfather, Carl Kesterson; niece and nephew, Kaden and Michaela Webber; special cousin, Joe Richard; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family received friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.

Funeral service followed with Pastor Bobby Williams officiating.

Graveside service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.

Roy M. Kidwell, 78, Lake City, passed away Nov. 6, 2011.

He was a member of Island Home Baptist Church. He loved his church and his church family. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: Wife, Patricia Labonty Kidwell; parents, Frank and Mossie Bumgardner Kidwell; brother, Condy Kidwell.

Survivors: Daughters, Vickie Poe and husband James of Clinton, Michelle McMillan and husband Greg of West Columbia, S.C.; brother, Claude Kidwell of Windsor Locks, Conn,; sister, Alice Faye Dubay of Norris; grandchildren, Megan Spradling, Brianne Miller, Danielle Lilly, Elizabeth Brown, Nicole and Connor McMillan; great-grandchildren, Abbey Huffer, Isaiah and Abigail Spradling, Allison Raper and Isabelle Miller

Peggy Walls Braden, 74, Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at her home.

She was born March 16, 1937, in Anderson County. She was a lifelong resident of Oliver Springs.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

She was retired from the Laboratory Department of the O.R.N.L. X-10 Plant following 39 years of employment.

She was preceded in death by: Husband of 53 years, James R. “Jay” Braden; grandson, Matthew Heilman; parents, Hix H. Walls and Pauline Clough Walls; and brother, Douglas Walls.

She is survived by: Son, James H. “Jim” Braden of Oliver Springs; daughters, Regina “Gina” Showalter and husband Mike of Oak Ridge, and Paulette Morrow of Oliver Springs; granddaughter, Laura Hileman of Oliver Springs; sisters, Patricia Tedder and husband Bill of Louisville, Ky, Judy Thompson and husband Tommy of Oak Ridge, and Diane Gray of Oliver Springs; sister-in-law, Nancy Walls of Bremen, Ga.; and brother-in-law, Sam Braden of Oliver Springs.

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, special friends and extended family members.

The family received friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Sharp Funeral Home.

The funeral followed at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating.

Burial and graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at Butler Cemetery in Oliver Springs.
