Green McAdoo plans fundraiser
“Gala on the Hill,” the Green McAdoo Cultural Organization’s annual fundraiser, will be held from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, May 22.

Dawn of Destiny will provide musical entertainment and the evening also will include live and silent auctions.

Tickets are $50 per person or $100 per couple. Tickets will be available beginning May 1 and will be sold on a first-come, first serve basis. All tickets are advanced sales and will not be available at the door.

Corporate sponsorships also are available.

Clinch River clean-up
The Clinch River Trout Unlimited chapter will hold its annual shoreline clean-up and roadside trash pick-up Saturday, April 17.

The chapter is seeking volunteers for the event, which will start at 9:30 a.m.

Volunteers will meet at Island Home Church on the Norris Freeway in Norris (little white church right before you get to River Road) for trash bags, assignments, etc.  Wear boots and gloves.  Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be supplied. For more info, visit www.crctu.com.


City school registration
The Clinton city school system will register new or transferring students from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., beginning Monday, April 12.

Registration will be done at the central office, 212 North Hicks Street.

When registering students the parent or legal guardian must bring the following items to complete the registration process:

• Certified birth certificate

• Social security card

• Immunization and physical record (on Updated Tennessee form)

• The previous year’s report card and achievement testing scores (if applicable)

• Copy of a court order awarding custody or a power of attorney form (if applicable)

• Fee of $25 (if new transfer student)

If students are currently enrolled in city schools, registration will be conducted through the schools beginning April 12.
